Well here on creating this post I CAN see the edit timestamp window. It pops up during page load, then disappears, then is made visible again by clicking edit next to timestamp. That’s fine. But why does it not work for sonomacroquet.org which is also at 2.5. Hmmmm…. odd.
Sonoma Croquet
after much worry and several cases of “the disappearing website” sonomacroquet.org is back up and running. Mike O set this up to start with but the upgrade to WP2.5 proved problematic so we switched hosting to the space I have here.
another Flickr plugin
using wordpress-flickr-manager – seems to be interfering with my other Flickr sets, but otherwise it’s working pretty well. Trick to getting it to work: make sure all the php files are correctly loaded into the plugin folder.
I’m back to using flickr-tag. it seems simpler and easier to use and doesn’t have lightbox clashes (since it uses lightbox separately rather than built-in)
updating plugins
updated some plugins today and noticed the BLC has simple-tags installed so thought I’d try it out over here. Not sure how useful it will be. In other news posted a set of 25 of the best pix from the 600 or so we took at the Bouquets to Art flower show in the de Young museum this weekend on Friday and Saturday nights. See Grand Scheme for more.
how to do a mailto link
like this “please send email” (only a link)
or like this “please send email to nobody@nowhere.special” (email in view, and linked)
or like this “please send email to nobody@nowhere.special” (no link)
testing add-lightbox
This plugin allows you to post single images of your choice, uploaded to your site, and automatically display them in a lightbox slideshow over the same page, without having to know how to form the regular lightbox links.
testing shashin to link picasa
[salbum=8,y,y,left][salbum=31,y,y,left] These link directly to Picasa, eventually the shashin plugin will enable lightbox slideshows within the page.
Shashin is disabled until either I find a way to use it easily so the albums don’t float over the other posts or I will wait for bogdan’s Picasa Lightbox to be ready for WP 2.5. I hope Picasa Lightbox can handle albums.
Garden
David’s photos (not the garden!). This is, after all, just a test. This was created with one line of code and knowing the set number of David’s photos. A breeze.
Whereas these two are single photos from our Picasa albums.
Chastleton House
Well those were. These are from the Conservatory of Flowers on Saturday. OK they’re not. I switched it out. These are the A380 and Blue Angels last year.
bringing it all together
I’m trying a new webhost, and here at HostGator it seems I might get what I need. So far no problems, and easy to set up multiple domains in one hosting account, thought the fact that they’re really sub-domains and therefore also exposed via their full sub-domain name is potentially problematic. Anyhow, for now this page will remain pretty unexciting. This domain is the holding area for the domains that are either parked or active under here. If it works well I’ll bring across the main family history site at wadley.us, but that will take some time.
